Alaska Brown Bear Photo Tour
8 Days, 2018 $6995 Anchorage & Lake Clark, Alaska
Join Award-winning professional wildlife photographer Aaron Baggenstos to experience and photograph Alaska’s iconic brown bears at close range. Last year we photographed 23 different brown bears on this trip!
Your adventure will begin in Anchorage, Alaska as you board a small plane for a scenic flight over massive volcanos and stunning mountain peaks. Shortly after arriving at your relaxing back country lodge, where bears are commonly seen from the windows and decks, your brown bear adventure will begin. At all times you’ll be lead by a professional bear guide for safe and exciting encounters and can expect full frame images with 300mm, 400mm, and 500mm lenses. Given the small group size you’ll also receive plenty in the field photographic instruction from Aaron.
Each morning and evening you will be transported between shooting locations by ATV with short hikes in between. Your focus will be on brown bear photography although you may also have opportunities to shoot bald eagles, wolves, and puffins on a day trip by boat, all against stunning backdrops of Alaska’s wilderness at one of Alaska’s top bear destinations.
*Note: This is an extremely popular tour destination and spots will fill over a year in advance.
“I’ve done a lot of nature/wildlife photography over the years but this was by far the best experience I’ve had. Everything about this trip was absolutely superb: the organization, Aaron’s leadership, the accommodations, and of course, the bears! I would highly commend it to anyone interested in a trip of this type.” – Steven K – Tucson, AZ – 2017 Alaska Brown Bears Participant)
The Alaska Brown Bear Tour far exceeded all expectations. Aaron is an excellent tour leader. In addition to being a nice guy, Aaron is invested in every tour attendee’s success during the tour. He works with everyone to improve composition and to ensure optimal camera settings for each situation. Our naturalist guides were also great. Accommodations, food, and travel logistics were expertly handled. We pushed hard throughout the trip, due to excellent weather and wildlife conditions, and that ensured everyone had numerous, great opportunities to photograph the wildlife we were looking for. I can recommend this trip without reservation to anyone seeking to photograph bears and other Alaska wildlife.

I have had the pleasure of joining four of Aaron’s tours in past two years. Aaron has lead me to the most amazing, awe inspiring, and diverse places to observe and photograph wildlife, while honing my skills’ and techniques. His tours are limited to small groups to ensure one-on-one quality time with each participant. Aaron brings all of his knowledge, talent and experience to his clients, while maintaining a great sense of humor and enthusiasm. Throughout this trip Aaron provided me with numerous suggestions and tips to improve my photography. Aaron is patient and is an excellent teacher. He takes the time to explain concepts and answer questions. I really learned a lot spending time photographing with him and look forward to further developing my skills on future tours. I highly recommend his photo tours!
